Christmas presents for artists: their own work
People who paint or draw buy their own materials and have firm views on them, so a set of brushes is a gamble. What many of them lack is a finished piece of their own, printed big enough to hang. We print the artwork you upload, or a photograph of a painted miniature, and we don’t change anything unless you choose a scene. Making a gift from something they made covers asking the artist first.
Print the finished piece as it is
For a painting, a drawing or a digital illustration, direct printing uses the file unchanged, with no AI step. Ask the artist for the original file, or for a careful photograph of the piece: even, indirect light, the camera square to the surface, no glare. The upload checks the file against each size, and sizes it can’t carry can’t be selected.
A painted figure in a new setting
For someone who paints miniatures, the optional scene studio takes a photo of the figure and builds a setting around it, with the display base removed. Compare the preview with the original photo, because AI can change faces, colours and fine brushwork. If no scene suits the figure, print the photo as it is.

Which surface suits which work
Canvas, from 30x40 to 60x80 cm, suits work that was painted. Paper suits line work and ink: posters run from A4 to 70x100 cm, and framed prints, A3 or A2, have a black or natural wood frame. Metal, from 30x40 to 50x70 cm, suits digital work in strong colour. There’s also framed canvas up to 50x70 cm, its frame black, natural wood or dark wood, wood at 30x40 or 40x50 cm, an 11oz mug, a 500ml bottle and a digital download. The paper sizes guide gives exact A-series dimensions, and choose your format compares the objects.
Ordering in time for Christmas
Everything is made to order. Production takes 2 to 4 working days and delivery another 2 to 5, so allow up to 9 working days, leaving weekends and bank holidays out. Order on a Monday and it can take until the Friday of the following week. A scene adds the time you spend choosing a preview, and a physical piece adds the time it takes to photograph it well. Delivery is included in the price, to UK addresses only. Delivery and returns has the details, and tabletop gaming gifts covers the rest of the table. Buying under a set limit? Secret Santa ideas starts with the lowest-cost options. If the artist is your mum, personalised gifts for mums covers a gift made from her own painting or a child's drawing. For Christmas 2026, order by Thursday 10 December for standard delivery, or by Tuesday 15 December with Priority delivery, which takes 3 to 6 working days. Questions and answers
What is a good Christmas gift for someone who enjoys painting?
A print of a piece they’ve already finished. Direct printing uses their file unchanged, with no AI step, so the brushwork you print is the brushwork they made. Ask them for the original file or a careful photograph of the piece.
What is the best gift for a painter who buys their own materials?
Their own work at a size they can hang. Paper suits line work, and posters go as large as 70 x 100 cm on 250 gsm uncoated off-white archival paper. A framed print saves them a trip to the framer, and canvas suits work that was painted.
What can I buy a painter that isn’t for the wall?
An 11 oz mug or a 500 ml bottle with one of their paintings on it, or a digital download to print where they like. We email the download as a link, so there is nothing to post.
Can it go straight to the artist?
Yes. In your basket, tick “This is a gift”, then give their address for delivery at checkout. We print no message and put no receipt or prices in the box; any note you write is emailed back to you to copy into a card.
