A digital download gives you the finished image as a file instead of a printed object. After payment we prepare the file and email you a link to download it. The link stays live for 30 days, so save a copy somewhere safe. There is nothing to post, and you can print it at home, take it to a local printer or hand it to a framer.
When a file is the better choice
Choose a download if you want a size, paper or frame we do not sell, if you already have a printer you trust, or if you want the image for a screen or a phone background. It also suits anyone who wants a scene made from their painted miniature and would rather decide later how to show it.
No resolution block
A download has no print size, so it is never blocked for resolution the way a physical product can be. That does not change what your file can carry once printed: a small original still only prints sharply at a small size. Printing it yourself
Tell your printer the size you want and ask what paper they use. If you are framing it, measure the frame opening first. The paper sizes guide lists the A sizes with the pixels each one needs, which helps when you are talking to a print shop. Ask for a small test print before a large one if colour matters to you: results vary between printers and papers, and a test costs less than a reprint. Uncoated matt paper suits brush and line work; coated paper lifts saturation.
A scene from your painted figure
If you create a scene from a painted miniature, the download is the scene you approved. Compare the preview with your original photo before you approve it: a scene can change fine detail, and the file you receive is that approved image, not a new one. Keep your original photo too, in case you later want to print the figure as it is.
After you pay
The download link arrives by email. Save the file as soon as it arrives instead of relying on the link, and keep a backup copy on a second device or in cloud storage. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder first, then contact us with your order number and we will look into it.
